Dr. Nathan McGuire was born and raised in Chaffee, MO. He is the oldest of four boys and has always loved playing sports, especially basketball and baseball. As a child he had an underbite and lots of crowding, and he went through extensive orthodontic treatment. He had it all: palatal expander, full braces, head gear, etc., and was able to experience first hand what a difference having a nice smile can make! It made such an impact on him that he decided that he wanted to become an orthodontist when he grew up. He graduated Valedictorian from Notre Dame High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he played baseball. Dr. McGuire then went on to earn his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where he graduated first in his class. He earned his Masters of Science (MS) and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville. He is still a huge Louisville fan today!
Dr. McGuire is married to his high school sweetheart, Melissa, and they were both very excited to move back to Cape Girardeau in 2006 and love raising their family here, near both of their families. They have four children- Nolan, Lucas, Ainsley, and Tessa and love spending time with them and being involved in their activities. Most evenings you will find him at a field or court, coaching one of his children's sports teams, which he loves!
Dr. McGuire truly enjoys getting to know his patients through the course of their treatment, but he especially loves being able to help people get the smile they want and helping to positively impact their lives the way his orthodontic treatment did for him years ago!
